The primary goal of Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana is to offer financial assistance to farmers, enhancing their lives. The scheme disburses Rs 12,000 annually to eligible beneficiaries, allowing over 1.15 crore farming families to avail themselves of its benefits. The intention is to alleviate the financial burden on farmers, enabling them to focus on agricultural practices for better yields. The initial tranche of Rs 1720 crore for this program has received the green light from the Maharashtra government.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the scheme, farmers must meet specific eligibility criteria:

1. The applicant should own agricultural land, with less than 2 hectares in their name.
2. Both husband and wife of the beneficiary farmer are eligible for benefits.
3. The farmer should not hold positions such as G.P. Member, Khasdar, MLA, or P.S. Member.
4. The recipient farmer should not fall under the category of income tax payers.
5. The agricultural worker ought not to serve as a government official.
6. Land in the farmer’s name should predate 2019.

Registration Process

Farmers interested in benefiting from Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana can follow these steps to register:

1. Visit the official website: https://nsmny.mahait.org/
2. Click on “Rural Farmer Registration.”
3. Enter Aadhar Number, ensuring it’s linked to your mobile number.
4. Choose your state, enter the OTP received on your mobile, and proceed.
5. Fill in the required details, including district, taluka, village, Land registration I.D., Ration card number, land details, and account number.
6. Submit the form to complete the registration process.

Checking Instalment Status

Registered farmers can check their Namo Shetkari Yojana instalment status through the following steps:

1. Visit the official website.
2. Click on the ‘Namo Shetkari Instalment Status’ tab.
3. Select the category (rural or urban) and provide the necessary information.
4. Click on ‘Get OTP’ and enter the received OTP.
5. The beneficiary list, including the status of instalments, will be displayed.
6. Check your name in the list to know the status of your instalment.”
