Jharkhand Train Tragedy :  President Murmu Expresses Grief Over Fatal MEMU Accident

Tragedy Strikes in Jharkhand: Two lives lost and several injured as a MEMU train hits pedestrians in Jamtara.

President Droupadi Murmu extends condolences after a fatal train accident in Jamtara district on February 28.

The incident occurred near Kaljharia, approximately 140 km from Jharkhand's capital, Ranchi.

Jamtara Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Mujibur Rahman confirms the recovery of two bodies, with ongoing search operations.

Railway officials report that the accident took place around 7 p.m., involving MEMU train and pedestrians on the track.

Train no 12254 (Anga Express) stopped due to chain pulling at 7 p.m., leading to the tragic incident.

Eastern Railway forms a three-member committee to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.

Divisional Railway Manager, Asansol, Chetna Nand Singh, clarifies that the victims were not Anga Express passengers.

The incident occurred about 1 km from the Anga Express stoppage, during a halt due to chain pulling.
